TWILIGHT FILMING LOCATION Silver Falls Park (3) Deer Catch
I continued in the same area as the Deer Pond scene and came across a downed tree trunk with trees at either end of it. It looked like the perfect place for the deer catch. I read in the Directors Handbook that they compiled photos of the deer jumping over a log, plus a stunt person reaching for the catch over the log. Then it was put together with CG to look as it does in the movie. I really didn’t think they could have gotten a deer to jump at the just the right time or spot for the shot. I also heard from K.C. at The Shire that they really did try the deer head on the bike trick there, but it wasn’t working.
